Portland Through a Latinx Lens

Share a part of your story, related to your Latinx identity — anything that you want to express about yourself! Submit a picture and a blurb; everyone has a voice, no matter the length or format.

Our unique Latinx identities will be expressed through a continuous collection of stories and photographs. We aim to amplify the voices of Latinx people in Portland, and the untold stories of those that build and nurture our community.

The following are for brainstorming purposes:

• How long have you lived in Portland? Have you had to move around?

• What are some of your favorite places to visit? Where and why?

• How does being Latinx influence your life? How about your community?

• How do Portlanders treat Latinx people? What are some positive/negative experiences that have shaped your perspective of the city?

• How do you identify racially, ethnically, and/or culturally? What has influenced this?

• Do you feel represented in Portland? How could this be improved or changed? Are there things you wish people, in general, knew more about Latinx folks?

• What do you see in the future for Latinx people in Portland? Oregon? The country?

• Which languages do you speak? How do they influence, or not, how you navigate through the world?
